Adventures | For The Family

On Leave - Day Two

Todays adventure began around 9 a.m. for a family photo. I guess this is one of those required things when you get together as a family, especially since we live so far away. It's also great since Breton and his wife were down too. Amanda had hired a friend to take some photos so we all drove up to Pioneer Park where there are lots of amazing rock formations, narrows, and caves.

Isaac didn't last long, and I had to stand behind him at one point to get him in the photo. We had fun afterwords hiking on the rocks and "hunting for lions" in the caves. It was getting hot, but for us, the heat was nice. NO HUMIDITY! Aaah, I like the heat, but without the dense water in the air.

The kids are having an absolutely wonderful time spending time with their cousins. It is great that they are all the same age and they just have so much fun together. It is also great that my family all live so close together. Really close. Cameron and his family live in a house directly behind my parents' home. Jason and his family live across the street from Cameron. Elise told Melissa that she wanted to visit her cousin and it would be "alright" because she would look both ways for cars and walk carefully across the street and then she would be back later after she had played and had fun. It was a cute dialogue. But it also worried me because I didn't exactly want Elise to run outside by herself and run around the block.

Melissa and I were able to do some shopping today and I purchased me a pair of running shoes. I'm getting a little anxious for the upcoming PT test and want to make sure I can train while I'm on leave. The test is in October and I want to make sure I will pass without trouble.

I really hate feeling the pressure to perform physically.
