We made a point to make time for family today by having a picnic at the famed East Potomac Park, home of “The Awakening” sculpture by Seward Johnson. We picked up lunch at Checkers Drive-In (not worth the price, by-the-way) on the way and ended up eating our “picnic” in the van since it was too cold and windy outside. Our excursion in the park was highligted by climbing all over “The Awakening” and taking a turn on the point to see the Potomac River.
