Tuesday marked the beginning of our stay as a family here in Virginia and Washington, D.C. and the trip getting here was somewhat of an adventure in itself. We left Las Vegas airport at 10:30 p.m. en route to Baltimore International. Airports in and of themselves are fine, but add ~300lbs of baggage (6 bags @ 50 lbs), two car seats, and two cranky kids and you wind up wishing the lines and hallways were much shorter. Las Vegas, for example, adds more than a mile of airport hallways for the casino games and advertisements (strategically placed so you have to walk through them to get anywhere). Ah, Vegas.
We hoped the kids would sleep, but Elise decided to throw a fit and Isaac would only sit "still" on Daddy's chair. So, we played musical chairs for a few hours while trying to keep the noise down. Finally, however, both Elise and Isaac fell asleep; Isaac across my lap and Elise down on two empty seats. I don't think either Melissa or myself really got any sleep all night.
By 9:00 a.m. we were well on our way to Woodbridge, Virginia to spend a few weeks with our relatives while we wait for our home to become available.
