Running with Nike+ is like a video game where you are playing the main character in real life, and then you get to watch the results on your computer. Since my regular running partner wasn’t running much lately, I decided to take up a challenege with racers across the country. I started running my typical route, but I was already behind on this particular challenge because I was added after the “race” had begun. I decided to pick up my pace and do more. I ended up running twice a day and then throwing in a long-distance run just to catch up. Within a few days I was in the lead and I was happy.
With only three miles to go, I felt pretty comfortable in my lead, but somewhere in the world another racer put in a long run and beat me to first place. I ended up without the ribbon, but I still felt pretty good about my performance.
I think if I do another anonymous race, I will try to pick a group with similar running habits so I don’t run myself ragged within a few days!
