Sunday was great. I attribute part of this to the new CQ we had (Staff Sergeant). Yesterday drill sergeant was cross all day long and he passed his misery onto everyone. Today's CQ was more personable and fun. He still demanded respect, and called people to the floor, but we felt much more at ease. After "chow" we were allowed to go to services. Fort Leonard Wood has LDS services because of the large amount of memebers who go there. It was good to go-- I found a few privates who are LDS in my company. I felt recharged and really motivated-- I was excited to go to basic now (I hope this feeling lasts!) One thing the Elder told us was a story about a Fort back on the West Coast (I forgot where.) His son is there and related this story. The Fort has been used since WWI and a lot of soldiers have passed its walls. He said the new privates are told to grab and hold the soil in their hands-- soil made sacred by the sacrifice of thousands. Sunday has been a good relaxing day-- and the CQ even let us call home. Much better than Saturday.
