Saturday was boring. Still in reception, but nothing happens on the weekends since all the civilian workers have the weekend off. We got up at 0600 and sat and ate. Sat and ate. Sat and ate. I'm sure I've gained 20 lbs. Between lunch and dinner we had a lesson on the military basics including insignia, army values, and other stuff. I'm worried about Sunday. After the training meeting the 1SG asked if there were any comments about this class, since it was the first time they've done it. A few hands rose with simple comments. I thought this was interesting. The class was marginal and a very tough learning atmosphere. When the 1SG asked i f there was anything negative, the company yelled in chorus, "No, First Sergeant!" (as is common) then I raised my hand. A hush fell in the company (nobody would dare say something negative about the First Sergeant's class!) but one of the Army Values- personal courage- says we should. So I did. I said that it would be nice if they showed some examples as they explained stuff-- expecially the uniform stuff. The Sergeant thought this was a good idea. I breathed a sigh of relief.
